1. Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda Romualdez – Inflated Cost: ₱16-MILLION (Original Price: ₱1-2 MILLION)
Married on 1st of May in the year 1954 at the Pro Cathedral of San Miguel in Manila, the late dictator former President Ferdinand Marcos married Imelda Romualdez, a fashion designer and model, with a budget of 1 to 2 million pesos. After the ceremony in Manila, the two were married again in a civil ceremony in the city of Baguio.
2. Yong Larrazabal and Donna Cruz – Inflated Cost: ₱24-MILLION (Original Price: ₱8-9 MILLION)
On September 19, 1998, ophthalmologist Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III and the actress and recording artist Donna Cruz were wedded at the Basilica de San Sebastian Church in Manila. The reception was later held at the Manila Hotel.
3. Yilmaz Bektas and Ruffa Gutierrez – Cost ₱27-MILLION
The actress and former beauty queen, Ruffa Gutierrez, got married to the Turkish businessman, Yilmaz Bektas, on May 25, 2003. The wedding cost a whopping 27 million pesos and what sucks is that they didn’t last long so it was like they just threw that big money away. They ended very bitterly. Yilmaz Bektas even said the words “Lady Sharmaine Gutierrez, I find you in the garbage and I put you back in the garbage.” Just how harsh is that?
4. Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna – Cost: ₱83-MILLION
After four years of dating, the Eat Bulaga co-hosts finally got married! Their wedding was held at the St. James the Great Parish Church in Alabang on the 30th of January in the year 2016. Right now, they are expecting their first child! What a beautiful blessing!
5. Assunta de Rossi and Jules Ledesma – Cost: ₱97-MILLION
The actress Assunta de Rossi married the businessman and first district representative of Negros Occidental, Jules Ledesma IV, on March 14, 2004.
6. Hayden Kho and Vicky Belo – Cost: ₱500-MILLION
The prominent cosmetic doctor and occasional actor, Hayden Kho, married to the dermatologist and a TV personality, Dra. Vicky Belo, last 23rd of June 2017 in a civil ceremony. Their wedding was held in Paris, France and the gowns of the bride were made by renowned designers Monique Lhuillier and Michael Cinco. Woah!
