On August 31, one contestant from the segment Miss Q&A, Jennifer Collins, got in a car accident. Reports say that Collins was on his way home riding a tricycle when it crashed with a speeding jeepney. He was rushed to a hospital nearby and the doctors had to dismember his right leg through a surgical operation. His right leg was lost; however, his other leg was still injured that it had to be put in a cast.
Collins’ friend, Jam Arenas, explained what happened to him. Arenas asked for Collins’ fans’ support and prayers for the Miss Q&A contestant’s speedy recovery due to the incident. Here’s what happened as told by Arenas:
“Mabilis daw po ang patakbo ng jeep, lasing at mukhang naka-droga pa daw po. Umabot na po sa puntong halos mamatay na siya at kailangan nang putulin ang isa niyang binti (RIGHT) samantalang sementado po ang isa (LEFT). Malaking pasasalamat pa din sa Diyos na siya ay binigyan ng panibagong buhay.”
