Sentors Gordon and Trillanes Get into a Heated Argument

In the Bureau of Customs hearing held on the 31st of August this year, Senator Richard Gordon, who is the chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, got into a heated exchange of words with a co-senator which made him say that if it were up to him, he’d be removing the latter from the senate.

The one he had a misunderstanding with was Senator Antonio Trillanes IV who is also a member of his committee. The hearing was about the P6.4 billion drug shipment from China. Gordon said that it wasn’t the first time that Trillanes had misbehaved. As a matter of fact, the former also accused the latter that he caused the death of someone due to his improper actions.

Sen. “Dick”Gordon brought back the death of Chief of Staff Angelo Reyes way back in 2011. He talked about how Trillanes had bullied and shamed the deceased chief which pressured him to commit suicide for the reason that he could not take it any longer.

Furthermore, the chair of the Blue Ribbon Committee plans to file an ethics complaint against his alleged member. This threat was happily welcomed by Trillanes.

Sen. Trillanes, for his part, complained about how his fellow senators are doing their best in order to exonerate the president’s son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.

Chief Presidenttial Legal Counsel Secretary Salvador Panelo shared his opinions about the heated argument between the Blue Ribbon Committee senators. He said that it was about time that someone pointed out Trillanes’ behavior.

“Hindi rin maaaring puro bastusan na lamang, pagbibintang o paninira sa mga hindi kaalyado ang gawin ni Senador Antonio Trillanes IV kung kaya’t dapat lang na mawala na ito sa mataas na kapulungan ng Kongreso.”
