Ai-ai delas Alas, a remarkable actress and comedienne, is known for bringing joy to people all around the globe. But, she was inspired to do so because of her strong faith to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Kapuso actress is a Marian devotee. She even held a mass last Semptember 8 in accordance to the birthday of the Mother of God. The celebration was held at the clubhouse of the village where her new home stands.
In a recent interview with PEP.ph, Ai-ai narrated about her two very special experiences at the church of Manaoag. She even shared a photo on her personal Instagram account regarding her celebration.
The comedienne reminisced how Mother Mary had blessed her when she was experiencing a huge drawback. She said:
“Marian devotee ako. Ang daming mga intercession ni Mama Mary sa akin na mga hinihingi ko na ibinibigay ng Diyos. Kaya thanksgiving ito sa lahat ng mga blessings na natatanggap ko mula kay God sa pamamagitan ng Mahal na Ina. Bata pa ako, devotee na ako ng Mother of Perpetual Help sa Baclaran. Noong may problema ako, nasa Manaoag Church ako, yung kay ano ‘to… sa ex-husband ko. Sabi ko, “Mama Mary, huwag naman. Ang sakit-sakit naman ng nangyayari sa buhay ko.’ Wala kasi ako mapagsabihan kasi hindi naman ako close sa adoptive mother ko, so feeling ko kulang ako sa pamamahal ng nanay.”
She explained how the Mother of God had touched her through the priest in Manaoag. The priest had told her that he loves her and even laid hands on her back even though she doesn’t know him personally.
She also narrated another miraculous event in her life that occurred on the same church of Manaoag. According to the actress, there was one time when she was walking alone in the middle of the night after discovering that the Manaoag church closes doors. She decided that she’d only pray at the gate. Later on, she noticed a man following her. She was afraid for the moment but then the man revealed that he is a priest and he can open the gates for her. She never knew that she’d be able to pray inside as she was only expecting to do it outside. It was truly a heartwarming experience.
