The relationship of Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola started really controversial especially that people speculate that the latter was just a third party. We all know that after Luis and ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin’s split, Jessy immediately came into the picture.
It has already been a year since the two announced their love for each other to the public; however, they still receive negative comments from netizens particularly saying that they’re a bad match. Despite all the negativity, the celebrity couple cannot be shaken still. You can even see both uploading pictures of themselves with sweet captions at their respective social media accounts. But, are they ready for marriage?
Just recently, Lucky had an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal and he was asked, “Ano masasabi mo dun sa mas excited pa sa inyo na ikasal na kayong dalawa [ni Jessy Mendiola]?” With that, the host and actor replied with his reasons why they are still not talking about getting wedded. He immediately answered:
“I’m happy kasi ibig sabihin people appreciate our relationship. I’m excited. Hopefully, she’s excited din naman. Pero 12 years ang age gap namin. She’s 24, turning 25 pa lang this coming end of the year.”
“Gusto ko muna matupad ang mga dreams niya,” Luis added. “Whether pangsarili niya, or for her family. Dahil mas masarap kapag settled down na kayo. Kahit papaano, happy na kayo sa mga achievements niyo. And then you have achievements together. Yung tapos na yung individual achievements niyo, couple achievements na.”
PEP.ph also interrogated about what are his mom Vilma Santos’ views about the two getting married. He said with conviction, “Oo naman. Si mommy kasi pinu-push nga niya na magka-apo. Sabi ko nga, ‘Si Ryan [Recto] muna magbibigay sa’yo ng apo.”
